China H1 auto exports up 70.53% to 242,800 units

Despite a slow growth in the past three months, the overall growth momentum has been maintained in China's auto market. Chinese automakers exported 242,800 vehicles in the first half of 2010, up 70.53% from a year earlier. And at the end of June, the automakers reported 504,700 vehicles in inventory, 82,300 units less than the figure at the end of 2009, according to data released by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China. In addition, the latest data from China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) shows that the country's automakers produced 8.92 million vehicles in the first six months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 49%, and sold 9.01 million units, up 48% from a year earlier.
