Xi'an Cummins to launch Euro-V heavy-duty vehicle engines

Guan Zhanghua, general manager of Xi'an Cummins Engine Co., Ltd., told reporters in Xi'an (the largest city in northwest China) on April 9 that the company's development of Euro-V standard Cummins heavy-duty vehicle engine ISM 11 L is nearly to be finished and the product is expected to be put into market later this year. Guan said the Euro-V standard Cummins heavy-duty vehicle engine ISM 11 L is the company's all-new product, with power ranging from 345 to 440 hp. Compared with the existing engines in accord with China-IV standard (i.e. the emission standard, equal to the "Europe-IV" standard) in the current China market, the engine could reduce over 20% of the Nitrogen oxides and particulate matter emissions, with limited fuel-saving, though.Guan told reporters that the company will first supply the overseas market with the Euro-V standard Cummins heavy-duty vehicle engine ISM 11 L, and once the domestic market demand arises, it is easy to match with the domestically made heavy trucks. At present, Xi'an Cummins Engine Company is able to produce 8,000 heavy-duty vehicle engines annually.
