Priced: 2010 Ford Mustang

Ford has announced pricing on the 2010 Ford Mustang. The V6-powered base model will be priced starting at $21,845, which Ford points out is about $1,000 below base Chevrolet Camaro and rivals.

The top Mustang, the Shelby GT500 convertible, costs a considerably steeper $52,075.

The V6-powered convertible is priced at $26,845. Ford's V8-powered GT model gets a starting price of $28,845, and the GT convertible starts at $33,845 with the Premium model of the GT convertible at $36,845. The Shelby GT500 coupe's MSRP is $47,145. All prices include an $850 destination charge.

Among the options are a factory-installed glass roof for the V6 and GT premium models and a number of aftermarket performance packs from Ford Racing.

The Shelby GT500 features a 540-horsepower supercharged V8 mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The Shelby Mustang gets a tuned suspension, aerodynamic modifications and a set of 19-inch forged alloy wheels with Goodyear F1 Supercar tires. Interior gets a cue-ball shift knob, aluminum trim and Alcantara seats with stitched leather stripes.

All the 2010 Mustangs will be in dealerships this spring.
