General Motors India registered a growth of 9.5% in sales in the calendar year 2008 by clocking sales of 65, 702 units as against 60, 032 units during 2007. Because of the slowdown, the company could only sell 4041 units in December 2008 which comprise of 509 units of Chevrolet Tavera, 867 units of Chevrolet Aveo, 248 units of Chevrolet Optra, 2382 units of Chevrolet Spark and 35 units of Chevrolet Captiva.
