'Poppy truck' could be parked

'Poppy truck' could be parkedTORONTO, Ont. -- Larry Josie’s popular ‘poppy truck’, which serves as a rolling tribute to Canadian veterans, could be parked. The independent owner/operator lost his only customer and has so far been unable to find a replacement shipper that would allow him to keep the tractor-trailer on the road, he told Canada AM this morning. You can view the story here. “I’m a one-truck trucking company and the company I was contracted to decided to switch carriers on me out of the blue and kind of left me out in the cold. These days it's hard to find another manufacturing company that would take on another contractor,” Josie told the morning show. He said some supporters have rallied to raise some funds in hopes of keeping the rig on the road. Josie displayed the tractor-trailer unit at numerous events over the past couple years, bringing attention to the sacrifices made by Canadian troops. The truck appeared on the cover of Truck News in November, 2007.
