Fisker Karma Hybrid moves another step closer to production

The Fisker Karma plug-in hybrid sedan is now another step closer to production. Fisker announced that it has signed the final contract with Valmet Automotive to build the $80,000 Karma in Finland. Production will kick off in the fourth-quarter of 2009.The first cars will be delivered to North America and the deliveries to Europe are planned to start in 2010, the companies said in their press release. Fisker plans on building 15,000 units of the Karma Hybrid annually.The Fisker Karma Hybrid is capable of 50 miles on electric-power alone and allows for a range of more than 350 miles. 0 to 60 mph?comes in less than 6 seconds with a top speed of 125 mph.Fisker recently announced that it will open a new Engineering and Development Center in Pontiac, Michigan that will employ 200 engineers and designers that will support the development of the new Karma.
