KRTS launches Trucking 101 for insurance professionals

KRTS Transportation Specialists has announced that it is adding another course to its program lineup for 2009: Trucking 101.

Geared specifically for the insurance industry, Trucking 101 will focus on education for the insurance professional who deals with transportation, according to KRTS. The course is designed to offer insurance industry professionals a well-rounded education about the transportation industry and its relationship to the commercial side of the insurance business.

'Respected industry people have encouraged us to develop this program, and deliver the curriculum to the industry,' says Kim Richardson, president of KRTS. 'We have proven over two decades, to be innovators in transportation education, and this course will be welcomed by our industry partners.'

To launch the program, KRTS is offering a pilot project to Pearson Dunn Insurance, which specializes in providing insurance brokerage services to the transportation industry, an agreeable arrangement according to the insurance company's president.

'KRTS will provide extensive training to the PDI transportation division, to enhance Pearson Dunn expertise in the transportation field,' says George McCarter. 'Trucking 101 will add significant value and understanding of the needs of our clients in the transportation industry.'

Trucking 101 is a certification program that will include an online component, an in-class component offered in a one-or-two day format, and an in-truck component.
