Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 hits the dyno
It was only a matter of time before someone threw the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 on the dyno to see how much power the Nurburgring champ was sending to the rear wheels. Well, a lucky Corvette Forum member known as Alvin had two 2009 Corvette ZR1s to play around with on a Dynojet 248.
The first Corvette ZR1, colored in Cyber Gray, was sending 530-hp to the rear-wheels and 508 lb-ft of torque. After making some adjustments that number rose to 567-hp and a maximum torque of 532 lb-ft. The second Corvette ZR1, colored in Black, had some clutch slipping issues but returned a reading of 540-hp at the rear-wheels.
After factoring in the 15 percent average loss due to it being a rear-wheel-drive car, the average for both Corvettes came in at 535-hp to the rear-wheels.
