If you've followed my ramblings on this blog for any amount of time, you're probably aware that I've taken a keen interest in the Chevy Volt since the original concept was unveiled a few years ago, even interviewing some of the key individuals involved in the development of the vehicle. Although gas was somewhat high at that time, it was roughly half what it has been over the last several months. General Motors is rarely accused of being nimble and trend-setting, but in this instance, I don't think the company could have had more perfect timing for the announcement of a production version of the Volt.
