Latest Spy Photos: 2010 Ford Taurus

DETROIT - Spy photographers caught the 2010 Ford Taurus prototype testing on the streets of Detroit today, and the new photos show the close relationship between the latest prototype and the Taurus spy shot that leaked earlier this year from inside Ford's design center.

Although the car is heavily camouflaged, the prototype is similar in overall shape and design to the April spy shot, but small design elements, including the foglights, appear to be changed.

The 2010 Taurus is expected to use a version of Ford's new Ecoboost V6. The new turbocharged engine promises V8-like power with the efficiency of a four-cylinder. Big promises for sure, but even if it doesn't quite meet those goals, the 2010 Taurus should be one of the more powerful sedans in its class without sacrificing too much in the way of fuel mileage.

The 2010 Ford Taurus will debut officially in January at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show, with sales beginning in the fall.
