production CR-Z Hybrid

Honda today revealed its new Honda CR-Z Concept at the Tokyo Motor Show. The Japanese auto maker also confirmed that the CR-Z, which seems to be the replacement for the Honda Insight based on the glass-hatched 1983 CR-X, will go into production sometime late 2009 to mid-2010.

“The fact that we will be producing cars like this – and the global hybrid – proves that hybrid cars are becoming key volume products within our range. All of this means that Honda will be selling over 1/4 million hybrids a year by 2009, said Honda UK’s Environment Manager, John Kingston.

Yesterday at a press conference held ahead of the Tokyo Motor Show, Honda said that it introduce an all new global hybrid car that will make the gasoline-electric technology more affordable to consumers. Were hoping that the production version will look exactly like the CR-Z.
