China-made Accord sells 17,191 units in July

In July 2008, the sales of the 8th-generation Accord sedan made by Guangzhou Honda hit 17,191 units, up 42.8% month on month and up 131% year on year. This was the fourth time that Accord's monthly sales led the mid- to high-end sedan market in China this year.

 

The 8th-generation Honda Accord of the joint venture Guangzhou Honda was the top seller of mid- to high-end sedans in the Chinese market in March, May, June this year, and the car sold a staggering 17,191 units in July, the best selling sedan again and also the only model of its kind that sold over 10,000 units that month in China. The closest rival Toyota Camry by Guangzhou Toyota sold only 9,439 units in July.

By July 31, The Chinese-made new Honda Accord sold a total of 90,881 units in the country this year and became the top seller again in China's mid- to high-end sedan market in the January to July period, when Camry sold 88,440 units.
