Lamborghini Showcased at Pebble Beach

PEBBLE BEACH, California — Legendary Italian sports-car manufacturer Lamborghini will be showcased on the 18th fairway at Pebble Beach for the 58th annual Concours d'Elegance this Sunday, August 17.

Some of the cars featured at the event will be the just-launched 2009 Gallardo LP560-4, the 2008 Reventón and the P140 prototype.

'The opportunity to be the featured marque at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance is a great tribute to the Lamborghini brand. We take great pride in showcasing our vehicles amongst the world's most passionate enthusiasts,' said Stephan Winkelmann, president and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini.

The very rare P140 will be there, which was never produced years ago when the Italian automaker decided to concentrate on the Diablo. Lambo's earliest known Miura, 350GT and many other one-off vehicles will also join the ranks of the new models staged along the Monterey Bay for the event.

The 560-horsepower LP560-4 replaces the previous Gallardo model. It is upgraded with a new engine, suspension and permanent four-wheel drive, and will hit all 34 North American dealerships at the end of the summer with a price tag of $222,000. Lamborghini only built 20 copies of its Reventón, which sells for a price equivalent to $1.47 million.
