The Taiwanese firms Everlight Electronics an LED manufacturer, King Yuan Electronics Company and Depo Auto Parts Industrial are collaborating to develop LED-based automotive headlamps, according to an article in Digitimes.

 

The above-mentioned Depo and Everlight , together with Epistar and AMA Precision, have formed another alliance, led by Taiwan¡¯s Automotive research & Testing Centre for developing aftermarket LED lighting products.

 

Taiwan's Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs aims to launch a product improvement and testing certification system for Taiwan's automotive electronics industry this year, hoping to increase its turnover from NT$70 billion (US$2.32 billion) in 2007 to more than over NT$100 billion (about US$3.31 billion) by 2009.
