Inner Beauty: Porsche Reveals Interior Details on 2010 Panamera
The 2010 Porsche Panamera won't hit dealers in Germany until September, but ahead of the car's official debut in April at the Shanghai auto show, the automaker is revealing images and information about the four-door grand tourer.
The automaker said the Panamera's interior design, with its full-length center console, is intended to give 'a new feeling of space and driving quality' and a feeling of 'personal privacy' for all four occupants of the low-slung seats. Four-zone automatic air-conditioning and a Burmester surround-sound audio system with 16 speakers should help with the opulence factor.
Luggage capacity is well thought out, with a tall compartment that lets four suitcases be stowed upright in the 15.6-cubic-foot area behind the rear seats (15.5 in the Panamera Turbo).
Porsche is offering 14 color and leather combinations for the interior, including four two-tone choices, and seven interior trim finish styles, from Olive Nature open-pore wood to carbon fiber.
Porsche will fit all Panamera models with 4.8-liter V8 engines from launch. The entry-level S and four-wheel-drive 4S get a 400-horsepower version of that engine. The Panamera Turbo gets 500 hp from its biturbo version of the V8 engine. All are mated to Porsche's seven-speed, dual-clutch PDK transmission.
The Panamera S is priced at the equivalent of $121,290, including tax. The 4S is priced at $131,133 and the top Turbo model is priced at $173,330.
The Panamera goes on sale in Germany on September 12.
