New Mercedes E class Exposed

Mercedes-Benz previewed the look of the redesigned E-class sedan by presenting the Fascination concept at the Paris motor show in October. And we've seen several spy photos of the car, some with very little camouflage in place.
 
But on Tuesday, what looks to be some studio shots of the new Mercedes leaked out onto the Internet, ahead of the car's planned debut at the Detroit auto show in January.
 
From the concept, spy art and the leaked photos, we see that the new E class is adopting more of an edge to its exterior styling. The oval headlamps are giving way to trapezoidal units.
 
We also see elements of the S class in the new E class, particularly in the hood and fenders.
 
The new E class will also used Mercedes' Bluetec diesel engine, with urea injection to reduce emission levels.
 
Look for the redesigned E class to go on sale next fall as a 2010 model.
