Unveiled: Daewoo Veritas

SEOUL, South Korea — GM Daewoo has introduced a new flagship sedan in the Korea market in response to the launch of the Hyundai Genesis. The big rear-wheel-drive sedan, called the Daewoo Veritas, is based on the Holden Caprice. GM Daewoo will import the car from Australia.Powering the Veritas is a 248-horsepower 3.6-liter V6, mated to a five-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift capability. Unlike the Genesis, the Veritas does not offer a V8 option. The car features a multilink suspension and rides on 18-inch wheels and tires.GM Daewoo previewed the car at last year's Seoul auto show with its L4X concept.
