Knight Rider GPS Will Be Out September 24

FREMONT, California — If you have a hankering to pay homage to the Knight Rider TV series, you'll be able to have a K.I.T.T.-like navigation device in your car very soon. Mio Technology is releasing its Knight Rider GPS on September 24.The GPS unit is intended to convey the 'sleek, powerful stance' and 'clean lines' of the original K.I.T.T., says maker Mio Technology. 'Few images in popular culture are as iconic as the flickering LED readout of K.I.T.T.'s anamorphic equalizer,' intones the company's promotional material. The new GPS system has dual LED readouts to match up, TV-style, with audio commands. Thanks to Navtones voice guidance using the original K.I.T.T.'s voice, the Knight Rider GPS creates the right attitude and atmosphere when it is giving out directions to the scene of the crime — or the restaurant you're trying to locate. The Knight Rider GPS costs $269.99 and can be purchased through Radio Shack. Pre-orders are being taken online and more details can be viewed at www.knightridergps.com.What this means to you: Trekkie-style fanware to help you enjoy your trek. — Laura Sky Brown, Correspondent
