The Jaguar XKR-S is not fast enough for the U.S?

After the 2009 Jaguar XKR-S made its debut earlier this year, it was disappointing to learn that Jaguar would only produce 200 units, and now we are hearing that none of these models will be sold in U.S.

Why won’t they be sold in the U.S? Why don’t Jaguar want to offer a better looking and faster XK in the U.S? Well…

According to AutoWeek, Jaguar of North American is feeling that since the XKR-S isn’t fast enough for the U.S sports-car buyers, it does not make sense for them to offer it in the U.S, since Mercedes-Benz AMG and Porsche dominate the market with their amazing amounts of power output.

The Jaguar XKR-S is powered by the same 420hp 4.2-litre V8 supercharged engine which is found in the XKR. The aerodynamic changes in the XKR-S allow more downforce and stability in the car, along with a top speed of 174mph, which is 19mph faster than the XKR.
