I am voting for Obama. He is the better of 2 evils. Mccain is for staying in Irac. Obama wants us out in 16 months. The gas holiday that Mccain wants for 3 months would save Americans about $28.00. Big deal. Drilling for oil now will not yield anything for 5 to 10 yrs.So off shore drilling is not a waste of time but clearly not the answer now to reduce gas prices.I don't think 1 million hybrid vehicles or plugins is so far fetched in 7 yrs time. Gas prices will drop a little perhaps but as long as China and other emerging economies are out there the demand for oil is many many times higher then it was in the mid 70's.I seriously doubt that gas prices will ever drop below $3.00 a gallon ever again. Further as long as there is instability in the middle east (which will probably be forever)speculators will help keep the price of a barrel of oil higher then it should be.The federal government needs to financially support nuclear,wind and solar,hybrids,plugin hybrids.But it's not all the government. How we build homes and commercial buildings and factories have to change. They need to be built to take advantage of solar and wind.Also existing houses and commercial buildings then need to be retro fitted for this.The government should give tax credits for people that build new and convert their homes just like they were doing for hybrids and now diesels.Corn based Ethanol is not working. It is simply pushing up the price of corn and the acidity in the mixture can eat away metal. New research needs to be done.The government needs to back this by putting lot's of money into it. You know the oil companies have had a large financial backing by the US government originally as well. There is no reason why the government should not financially back these alternatives enregy solutions.We the people should stop complaining and start doing our share to keep energy costs low as well. Inflating tires will not solve the gas crises.However it can help a bit. Further if Americans want to cut their fuel bill they should stop buying those monster SUV's and trucks. 40 yrs ago we did not have avialble a Chevy Tachoe or Ford Excursions. We lived with out them then.We can live without them now.If you need a hot car then save up,buy a Porsche Carrera with PDK and get 29 MPG on the highway. Hell you can become a hypermiler and bring that up to 40 MPG if you want.Otherwize get used to it and buy the hybrid or diesel small car.Another thing about Mccain. I really think he too damm old to run the country at this point.Sometimes when I hear him talk in an interview I get nervous.
