DHL lands more logistics work with Jaguar and Land Rover

DHL Exel Supply Chain has been awarded a three-year contract worth over £100 million per annum, its biggest automotive sector deal, to manage in-plant logistics and the collection of UK- and European-sourced component parts for Jaguar and Land Rover. The contract, reported by the logistics industry site Analytiqa rather than DHL or its client, extends DHL's activity from its existing operation at Castle Bromwich to include the Halewood and Solihull plants.

DHL announced at the end of January the trial of two 7.5 tonne Mitsubishi Fuso Canter Eco diesel-hybrid trucks in its UK Express and Logistics operations. Daimler and DHL anticipate that the two vehicles will use up to 20% less fuel than their pure diesel counterparts.
